"They ask me what I see in you and I smile, look down and say nothing because I don’t want them to fall in love with you too."

Life

“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.”
Maya Angelou

Bernhoft

I found myself in awe as I watched this talented young man doing his thing on The Ellen Degeneres Show. This man goes by the name of Bernhoft, and is from Norway. When Ellen interviewed him he explained how he tried to start a band but that failed, so he came up with this brilliant idea to start a ONE MAN BAND, which he then uploaded for his friends to view on Youtube. To his surprise he got more viewers than what he imagined and became an instant hit. When I watched him beat box, sing, play guitar all at the same time, gelling everything to sound like an actual band, I hit to pick my jaw off the ground, gain composure and search for this multi-talented guy. I hope you enjoyed it as much as i did!

FACT!

“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.”
Audrey Hepburn

MUFFINZ

Johannesburg, Newtown hosted the male up and comming band Muffinz at Shikisa yesturday on 25/06/2012. Kool Out Lounge is a must go for all lovers of good soulful LIVE Music. The Muffinz was the lucky band (or should I say that the audience were the lucky bustards who got to hear this talented band do it's thing on stage. This band describes their music as “an urban indie jazz band, mixing up the beautiful sounds of light afro jazz, soul, pop and a lil’ touch of genius to create a new type of band.”

Their music is a soulful with a touch of liveliness, with a 2012 edge, to get you moving and dancing the pata pata-if you may. These five young talented men sing songs that inspire, make you reminisce and have an old school rhythmic beat that can be heard through the instruments of the guitars and drums that travel through your ear-drums, all the way down to your feet.

As if that isn't enough, each individual can play a musical instrument drawing you closer to the message of the song being sang. I found myself bopping my head, whilst listening to them express themselves gracefully on stage.

Their CD is available at Music Store outlets for R130 and you can also follow them on twitter @Muffinz_live.

ONCE AGAIN SOUTH BREWS TALENT AND GIVES US DELACTABLE MUFFINZ TO ENJOY IN OUR HOUSES AND CARS.

Greatest challenge facing our economy

Bongiwe Msimanga

E
very year, on April 27, South Africa celebrates Freedom day as a reminder of our first ever non-racial democratic election held in 1994. This day symbolises freedom for change, stability and growth for a better South Africa.
Seventeen years of democratic freedom and citizens of South Africa are still faced with many challenges that restrict development for the country. Amongst these challenges: too few South Africans are in work, the quality of school education for most black people in rural areas is sub-standard, performance of public service is uneven due to corruption and the unemployment rate marginalises the rich from the poor.
Unemployment is the highest amongst women, whilst one in two young South Africans are jobless according to the South African Institute of Race Relations. Also an increasingly large amount of citizens are relying on grants to sustain their families.
Ranked as an upper-middle income economy by the World Bank, high levels of unemployment are the most salient economic problems facing the country, which could tarnish and lead to the country unable to move off its feet from being under-developed. South Africa continues to struggle with one of its prominent battles the scourges the country.
