Our Freedom Day...Black Coffee Africa Rising Concert

On 27 April, South Africa celebrated Freedom Day.  This sunny day was celebrated by many in various ways, as a sense of freedom, some opted to have a braai in their back yards, others opted for road trips, some had lunch, some clubbed.....and US-my pose, decided to take it to the hood and spend our day basking in the ambiance of good music and great company  at Back Coffee, Africa Rising Concert, at Walter Sisulu Square - Soweto.

The amount of talent that we have in our country is undermined and still yet to sweep those indenial and ignorant people off their feet. None-the-less what a magnificent day we had. And of course Black Coffee's orchestra was the creme-DE-la-creme of the evening, I danced till my joints couldn't take it no more....but I have no regrets at all.

These black brothers......

I see a different you (@iseedifferent), is one of, and probably will remain one of the best photography/stylish blogs. These three Soweto born twin brothers Justice and Innocent Mukheli and bestfriend Vuyo Mpantsha are black gentle brothers making a difference (no pun intended) within the rapid fashion evolving world, added with an element of ubuntu and remaining true to their style and place of birth. Their upbringing and heritage in Soweto has nourished them to be what they are today. Inspired by international blogs, their roots and blog allow the world to see a different side of things and their township.

Mind you the first time i saw the twins at Thesis (Soweto), I was in awe......there is a silence beneath their breath and voice that luminates prosperity, charm and understated sense of style. I will not say much except, take a look at these photographs and examine them for yourself. I still see, many can learn a thing or two from these brothers.

This is what i'm doing for tomorrow's public holiday....

Mememe, co-owned by Milisuthando Bongela (@missmillib) is one of my favourite clothing stores in Parkhurst, sadly she is shipping out from this area, so the afternoon goodbye party will be hosted tomorrow. R60 gets you into this extravaganza over flowing with cocktails, shopping  and good music. You have got nothing to lose, so come one, come all ladies and lets talk, be merry and shop till we drop. Oh, before I forget the party is from 2pm-7pm.

Elle is freakin fantastic

The May issue of Elle Magazine has the 25-year old Babados beauty, who will set the stage alight at F 'N b stadium in October, none other than - Rihanna.

Everything about this talented, tatoo frenzy chic speaks A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. Her style is the epitome of what most aspire too, and her daring choices to do what she wants and when, are what most women aspire to do. This month Elle Magazine wrote a five page in-depth article of this woman. If you haven't purchased the latest issue of this magazine, then please hurry along and do what your soul, body and mind needs, GO BUY IT!

My today and tomorrow

Ladies and gentleman its been a while, but alas, fear not for I come with gifts to bare.

This world that we living in consumes us to a point of exhaustion, forgetfulness, discretion, secretion and tiredness.

These past few months, I have taken time to think, re-evaluate and make decisions that many contemplate but falter to follow through. As human beings we often complain about lives and never do anything to change the energy around nor help ourselves, and its not that we cannot alter our lives, we are blocked by fear, and at times that fear is NOTHING - a world of the unknown. We should not worry about our past or hinder ourselves from happiness and life. The life we were given came with gifts, from God, of knowledge to impart and receive and brains to help us mentor ourselves......

The video included in today's post is by Nas featuring Lauryn Hill, "If I ruled the world." Listen, take a moment to hear his words and the chorus.......

Have fabulous day ahead and live you life as though you won the jackpot.
